Review by Steve Mackenzie

High Planes Models (HPM) based in Singapore have recently released a detailing set for the new Airfix Spitfire Mk.Vc to make a RAAF airframe. This includes the following resin parts at a cost of AUD$18.79 on their website (see below):
narrow cannon bulges
dH Hydromatic spinner and separate blades
5 spoke and covered wheels (both types)
fishtail exhausts
domed (round) rear view mirror
decals for 3 airframes (see later)

Included are decals for 3 RAAF schemes as per the images below (detailed comments on each one will come later), they are:
1. One of W/Cmdr Clive Caldwell's airframes CR-C JL394
2. S/Ldr Lou Spences's QY-V A58-254 'Rima II' from 452 Sqn
3. Mk.Vc SH-K A58-250 'Marge' from 85 Sqn

The instructions are very detailed, spread across six pages. Each of the 3 colour schemes has it's own page with Port, Starboard and upper views of the scheme plus a photo of the airframe. There is also a 1 page diagram showing stencil placement, another with instructions for using the resin parts and a table giving colour mixes for the RAAF paint colours. I will now give some info for each of the paint schemes on page 2.

Hit next to go to the 2nd page.
