Avro 652 Anson colours and markings Part 2 P.2

Anson N2834 as an Air Ambulance date unk, RAAF Official image 000-154-594.

Anson N2834 as an Air Ambulance. I suspect it is still in Dark Green/ Dark Earth upper camouflage with White lower surfaces (standard for Ambulance aircraft), roughly sprayed. Red/White Ambulance roundels plus lower half of cowlings in Red as Ambulance markings. Standard 'Pacific' type national markings of the time (Dark Blue/White) in six positions plus fin flashes. Serials Med Grey.

Avro Anson AX425 Forced landed on the beach at Lakes Entrance due to failure of the starboard engine. It was piloted by P.O D Strachan of GRS Bairnsdale 12th May 1943

Anson AX425. This is a very strange interpretation of the usual camouflage pattern. Likely Foliage Green/ Earth Brown as it has clearly been repainted. Sky Blue lower surfaces. Minimal markings consisting of Black serials and Standard 'Pacific' type national markings of the time (Dark Blue/White) in six positions plus fin flashes.

Anson W2181 (XJ-J) #81 from 6 Communications Unit ('Fentons Flying Freighters') likely in 1945

Anson W2181. Overall Yellow colour scheme as were most 6 CU Anson airframes. Black serials (including under wing and code letters) with Standard 'Pacific' type national markings of the time (Dark Blue/White) in six positions plus fin flashes. A rare instance of the 6 CU codes ('XJ') in use. '81' on nose and large letter 'F' in the nose inscription in Red, remainder of the inscription is Black per usual 6 CU practice.

6 CU #10 'Fentons Flying Freighters' NT 1945 likely Anson W2510. This illustrates the usual 6 CU way of marking their Anson noses, with the number and 'F' in Red, the remaining script being Black.
