Background
When I was an ATC at RAAF Pearce in the early 70s. I did a photographic walkaround of A65-102 "Momma" with the intention of modelling the old girl which I eventually did many years later using home made decals. I had a few flights in this old girl to Rottnest Island and back. We had 2 Daks at Pearce this one and A65-91 (see Airliners.net image 1120984 for a photo, I will not run it here as they get VERY touchy about using images from their site without payment - Steve). They were on base for Search and Rescue support for one thing, there may have been others including trips to Learmonth to load up with bulk seafood for the Officers Mess functions. As the end of the financial year approached the remaining allocation of flying hours were hurriedly used up in conversion training and jollies lest the allocation be lost in the next year. One year an engine change threw a bit of a spanner in the works (Wally Civitico on Facebook).
